Moving beyond coping towards meaningful change
Many people come to therapy feeling as though they are managing on the surface, yet struggling internally. They may be experiencing anxiety, emotional overwhelm, burnout, or the ongoing impact of past experiences that continue to shape how they feel, relate, and live.

You might recognise a sense of constantly holding everything together, feeling emotionally disconnected, stuck in repeating patterns, or unsure why life does not feel settled or fulfilling despite outward success. Sometimes the difficulty is clear; at other times it is simply a feeling that something is not quite right.

I specialise in working with people who want more than symptom management — moving away from externally holding everything together and towards a sense of internal stability, confidence, and fulfilment. This work is for those who are ready to understand what is really driving their difficulties and to experience meaningful, lasting change. Many come to a point where they no longer want to put life on hold, but to reconnect with a sense of purpose, ease, and emotional wellbeing.

How I work
My approach is warm, calm, and collaborative, while remaining focused and purposeful. I work with both conscious understanding and the deeper emotional and neurological processes that can keep patterns in place despite insight or effort alone.

Sessions are not about endlessly talking without direction, but about creating emotional movement and relief at a pace that feels safe. The work supports both insight and deeper change, helping you feel more settled within yourself and more able to engage fully with your life and relationships.

EMDR as a core part of the work
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is central to my practice. It is a well-established, evidence-based therapy that helps the brain reprocess difficult or traumatic experiences so they no longer continue to intrude into the present.

Many clients find EMDR allows change to happen without needing to repeatedly describe distressing events in detail. Over time, memories lose their emotional intensity, anxiety reduces, and people often describe feeling calmer, clearer, and more able to move forward.

Research shows that EMDR can be highly effective and, for many people, meaningful improvement can be achieved in as little as five to six sessions, depending on the nature and complexity of the difficulties being addressed. EMDR is also highly effective for PTSD and CPTSD, anxiety, depression, and the ongoing emotional impact of past experiences that continue to shape how people feel and respond in the present. This may include difficulties linked to relationships, dental or medical trauma, domestic abuse, early life experiences, bullying, accidents, grief, and loss. Over time, EMDR supports a reduction in distress and helps people feel calmer, more settled, and more able to move forward.

I specialize in EMDR intensives, including half-day sessions, for those seeking more focused, rapid therapeutic change. Intensives can be particularly helpful where clients want to make significant progress within a shorter timeframe, while still working safely and at a pace that feels manageable. For some, this work leads to significant shifts in a relatively short period; for others, it forms part of a deeper, integrative therapeutic process.

An integrative, tailored approach
Alongside EMDR, I integrate relational psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy, and executive wellbeing coaching. This allows therapy to be tailored to your individual needs, whether the focus is trauma, anxiety, relationships, identity, or navigating high-pressure professional life.

This integrative approach supports change at both conscious and unconscious levels, helping to address the roots of longstanding patterns while strengthening your capacity for emotional stability, connection, and choice in everyday life.

Areas I work with:

  • Anxiety, stress, and emotional overwhelm
  • Trauma and difficult past experiences, including PTSD, CPTSD
  • Burnout, high-pressure roles, and emotional exhaustion
  • Low mood, disconnection, and loss of direction
  • Relationship and attachment difficulties
  • Couples experiencing distance, conflict, or breakdown in communication
  • Life transitions, identity change, and personal development

Professional background
I have extensive experience working in both NHS and private practice, supporting adults with complex mental health needs alongside individuals seeking depth-focused, high-quality psychological therapy.
I am with the BPS, UKCP, BACP, GHR, and the EMDR Association UK. My work is informed by ongoing professional development, clinical supervision, and academic engagement.

“It’s as if the memories are still there, but the distress and anxiety are no longer attached to them. I feel calmer, clearer, and able to get on with my life again.”
