Some people want a counsellor to be with them through current life events, others want to work through past life events, and some others just want one or two sessions to vent or seek clarity on a specific issue that’s been niggling at them. I offer both long and short term counselling to suit individual needs and welcome anyone to make initial contact with me.
During my career, I have been fortunate to gain a wealth of experience supporting people of all ages and from various walks of life through depression, eating disorders, loss, relationship difficulties, domestic violence, sexual abuse, PTS/PTSD, self-harm, self-esteem issues and coping with major life changes.
I have worked with clients through their suicidal periods and supported referrals to mental health teams, medical professionals and safeguarding teams on child protection issues. I have often been told that I make counselling an enjoyable, empowering and insightful experience for my clients. I place a lot of emphasis on getting to know my clients and giving them the space and time they need to explore, be silent, express and most of all, to be heard.
Therapy is all about the relationship between counsellor and client. That is where the healing takes place and makes room for growth.
I have extensive experience working with young people aged 11-25 as well as individual adults and couples.
